I'm from LA, and therefore extremely picky with my Mexican food. This place NAILS it. Phenomenal flavors. A hidden gem parked outside of Ghost Town Brewing. Don't miss out if you get that rumble in your stomach after a couple of beers.

I'll be honest, I've never been much of a food truck person. Growing up, they weren't really my go-to for meals. But I know things have changed--food trucks have come a long way since then, and now you can find some top-notch dishes being served up, not just here in the East Bay, but across the country. Take this Mexican food truck, for instance. I hadn't heard of it before, and I probably wouldn't have if it weren't for the countless hours I've spent enjoying too many beers at Ghost Town Brewing over in West Oakland, off Adeline St. It's not a part of town I usually hang out in, but GTB is cool, and Taco Panzón... well, read on. Usually, I don't grab food when I'm out drinking, but that changed once Taco Panzón showed up. After the first time, there was a second, and then, "Hey, Taco Panzón is here again!" Now, I'd say 8 times out of 10, if their grey truck is parked outside, I'm ordering something. I started with a veggie burrito, but over time I've worked my way through all their options--carnitas, asada, pollo, and chicharrón. Every one of them is excellent. Each burrito comes with a choice of mild (green) or spicy (red) sauce, with pickled jalapeños on the side if you want some extra kick. Their tacos are just as tasty--I've tried a few different meat options there too, along with their tortas and nachos. Speaking of the nachos, they come loaded with meat (if you want), beans, cheese, jalapeños, and salsa. I've only ever had them fully loaded, and they're amazing every single time. The prices are a bit higher than some other authentic Mexican spots I've been to, but the food pairs perfectly with a GTB beer. The service is fast, friendly, and they accept cash, card, and Apple Pay.

Solid tacos! It's on a little side street in West Oakland. $3 regular tacos, $4 super tacos loaded. I tried and enjoyed both types. Carnitas, al pastor, asada. Plus, radish and other pickled veggies. I wish I had been hungrier! So much other good stuff to try!

Campbell St & W Grand Ave Oakland, CA 94607 "The Taco Panzon" is a food truck located in West Oakland at the corner of West Grand & Campbell St. It's parked on the south side of West Grand, and a block from Raimondi Park. It's prime location is near the freeway ramps and the Port of Oakland. If you drove down West Grand, you might of seen this truck and wondered..... is the food is good? The answer is YES! The Taco Panzon offers a simple, no-frills menu. Along with friendly service, it's great for a quick meal or snack while driving. Recently I ordered two Chicken Tacos Deluxe (spicy). They were served with avocado, crispy veggies, and a whole jalapeno. Only $4 each, for fresh and tasty food. Menu items incl: tacos, torta, nachos, burrito, and quesadilla. All orders are to-go. When I was there I didn't see any tables setup.

such a great bite on Grand Avenue. I had two pastor tacos and one chicharrón (comes marinated in their spicy salsa) and was so content. The plate comes with pickled carrots, cucumber and a whole jalapeño to wash it all down. Service is kind and efficient.

When your car window has been "bipped" (as the kids say) and you're waiting for it to get replaced, one might long for a bit of culinary respite. On Grand Ave, there are a plethora of Food Truck options but you would be wise to pass up the rest and head to Panzon. I recommend the Tacos over the Burrito unless you're planning to eat while driving. Please don't drive and taco. The extra $1 for Avocado is well worth it. The put a heavy slab on each Taco and layer it within the Burrito so that you get a chunk in every bite. Pro tip: ask for refried beans and both salsas.

East bay burrito review #32 First taste 6/7 Meat 7/7 Beans 5/7 Rice 5/7 Cheese 6/7 Tortilla 5/7 Salsa 7/7 Overall 6/7 rounded up. Pretty damn good overall. Would have preferred refried beans and a crispier tortilla but the steak and salsa were excellent. The whole burrito has great texture and balance of flavors.

Love love love this taco truck. I first found it on accident in the hood and now I follow them all over in town. Not sure if it's the salsa or the perfectly seasoned meats on the tacos or the REAL avocados - it's always delicious. Authentic flavors, great spices, been chasing them for about 8 years :) I always get the spicy deluxe steak tacos. Its a must try !
